Spirit
Spirit is our first album in 13 years and, with
the exception of 2 songs, Freedom and Spirit, the music has all been written
since August 2007 when the current line up first came together to rehearse
for a week.
The song Spirit is a reworking of an old tune
from 1985 and Freedom started it's own long journey in the wake of recording
the New Life album with Heidi Kemp.
Once Andy had demoed the material and we'd played
much of it live, Andy and Pete spent 4 days in an old church putting the
drums down with engineer Dave Rowles. Andy then recorded guitars fiddle,
keys and vocals on an iMac using Logic 8 and Robin added bass in his front
room with the same software on a macbook. Andy and Loz Jackson spent many
an evening in Loz' studio mixing the tunes and mastering the album on
a mac pro running Logic 9 with UAD plug ins.
